Fogarty Futures

The Fogarty Futures Leadership Conference is an annual four day camp, held from 3-6 October, for students in year 10 and 11. Our aim is to build authentic and courageous leaders and to give them the tools they need to become leaders in their communities.

Supporting the Growth of Young Leaders

We’re committed to helping young people to make a difference in their communities, and to have courage in being a leader. Our aim is to help provide a space where students can grow with same-age peers, and connect statewide over growth and a sense of community.

Discovering Your Leadership

We believe there is no ‘one model’ of leadership that suits everyone. Leadership is about authenticity and courage, so we want to help students to find their leadership. Students will be encouraged to explore different approaches to leadership and find what resonates with them.

Challenging Perspectives

Growth begins when assumptions are questioned and familiar ways of thinking are stretched. By engaging with different viewpoints, ideas and challenges, students can expand how they approach teamwork and problem solving.

Momentum Begins Small

Students will explore how to plan with purpose and collaborate effectively to turn ideas into tangible outcomes. By starting small and understanding the value of consistency, we hope to show students that important outcomes are not always immediate, but nevertheless important.

“My favourite part of Futures was definitely being surrounded by so many like-minded young people and being encouraged to make big differences in the world, even when I would have thought before hand that things would have been impossible, or maybe too hard to achieve. It really gave me that confidence to try new things.”
